Russians claimed that a Ukrainian UAV exploded after it fell onto the roof of a factory. Kyiv Post was told by Ukrainian intelligence that it had been a carefully planned HUR attack.
Sources in the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense (HUR), according to the Kyiv Post, confirmed that the attack by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on an aircraft factory located in Smolensk was preplanned and not just a mistake made by Kremlin troops.
The spokesperson said, “The HUR was successful in hitting the targets.”
Russian Telegram channels said that at least two drones of aircraft type attacked the plant in the early morning hours on Nov. 26.
They announced that the UAVs were all downed. The Russians claim the first UAV was shot down at around 9 am in Smolensk’s Zadniprovsky District. A drone was seen over Smolensk about 30 minutes later.
On Russian social media, there is an indication that the drone has been suppressed allegedly by electronic warfare forces. As the Russians claim, the UAV exploded on the roof of a workshop of the factory as a direct result of “shooting”.
The roof and floor beams were damaged as a consequence. At this time, there is no information on the victims.
The Ukrainian mass media reported on Sunday that, according to sources from the HUR (Ukrainian news agency), on Nov. 26th, Ukrainian intelligence had attacked Russian areas in response the Shakheds’ mass raid on Kyiv.
The UAV strike on Russia started at 3:20 am and ended by 9:20 am. About 35 drones attacked targets in Moscow, the surrounding area, Tula, and Smolensk.
HUR stated that all of the targets targeted were military or involved in military production.
HUR claims that their actions were “purely symmetrical” and served as a warning to the Russian Federation about the possible consequences. HUR said that the war should be waged by the military within the conflict zones. It also assured the Russian Federation of the consequences in case they strike civilians outside the zone.
The Kh-59 missile factory in Smolensk, which produces the aircraft was not the only target of this attack. Previous strikes took place in October 1.
The HUR at that time reported: “As a consequence of the attack against the Smolensk air factory, production of Kh-59 rockets in various modifications has been disrupted.”
According to Ukrainian intelligence services, during the attack in October, three out of four UAVs struck the target and caused significant damage at the military production facility.
Andriy Yushov, military intelligence’s representative, told Kyiv Post in an interview that minor damages to such complex mechanisms of production can cause problems for Russia.
