Three cars parked in front of a Massachusetts home were destroyed by a large tree that fell during squalls on Monday morning.
The video from Thwing Road, Lynnfield, shows that the tree was so large it smashed through the corner of the house and crushed the cars. The gutter of the home was blown away by the wind, along with the exposed wood and split siding.
We just woke to find this tree. The house was shaken. In the bedroom, my son was sleeping. I opened the door and went in. Smoke, debris of all kinds. “My son had a slight panic attack,” said Tim Walsh, a homeowner.
“I was just sleeping in my bed when I heard this terrible, loud noise. Tyler Walsh said, “I woke up and I was terrified. There’s a massive hole on the wall of my bedroom.”
The tree’s branches fell in large pieces on a Toyota Camry parked along the road. The glass of the vehicle was broken.
Other pieces of the trunk fell on the silver pickup truck that was parked nearby. The trunk of that vehicle crushed the truck.
The tree was also broken into pieces that fell onto the SUV next to the truck.
Tim Walsh stated, “It is unfortunate that we have lost three vehicles.”
Family members said that they had been concerned with the tree on the water district’s property and worked closely with the municipality to remove it.
Tim Walsh explained that they had set a February date to remove the sign.
The Walsh home was not damaged, but no one has been injured.
Tyler Walsh said, “I’m not happy with the outcome but am glad that it wasn’t worse.”
